Our Approach

The AHEZA Directorate is tasked with preserving the memory of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi, facilitating access to justice for survivors, and promoting reconciliation, resilience, and social cohesion. Our comprehensive approach includes documentation of survivor testimonies, monitoring of genocide trials, prevention of genocide ideology, and implementation of community-based peacebuilding programs. Through our work, we ensure that remembrance, justice, and social cohesion remain central to Rwanda's national priorities and contribute to a future where such atrocities never happen again.
